Full length LP from Bahrain's very own folk hero elevates sound to new heights and delivers polished, upbeat record.
Mo Zowayed has been honing his chops over the past couple of years, since the release of his debut EP three years ago.
He's been performing regularly on the local music circuit and booking a support slot with none other than Jools Holland in the UK.
His full-length LP, That Good Love, is testament to that dedication.
Mo is one of the hardest working artists on the island, constantly surrounding himself with pro musicians who help him reach that clean, beautiful sound he’s spent years after.
This is as easy listening as it gets. A breezy, pleasant and efficient record full of songs about good love.
The 10-track album is polished, slick and masterfully crafted. A record that has more of a full-band, live-session feel to it. Gone are the indie-folk vibes and replaced with Americana, country (‘Too Late to Dream’ and ‘Goodbye Ohio’) and a tiny bit of Motown (in the catchy ‘Nobody’s Girl’).
Mo sings with gentleness and grace, especially on the slower numbers such as 'She Ain't Coming Back', stripping down his happy-go-lucky attitude for a more vulnerable approach.
That Good Love is more Jason Mraz than Mumford & Sons. It does what it says on the tin. And that's a good thing.
