Kuwaiti artist and producer releases a banging EP full of power beats and spacey synths
Ove the past couple of years, there’s been an evident resurgence of independent, alternative electronic music from Kuwait, with a number of bands and artists producing some excellent releases. One of them is the second offering from Altersal.
‘You Never Listen’ is a 4-track synth-heavy, fat-beats EP, that builds on what was set up with the first record and creates a more direct, full sound.
Gone are the swooshing, experimental sounds and playful tinkling, replaced now with an unapologetically dancey, thick beats and spacey waves of synths.
This is plainly evident in ‘Wish You Never Came’, a banger you could hear thudding towards the end of the night as sweet-soaked ravers close their eyes and surrender to the journey it takes them on.
Altersal may not be reinventing the wheel, but it still offers a swell dose of electronica to keep you going, getting you all psyched on the drive to another epic night out. At this rate, we'll most definitely listen.
