Updated: Nov 30, 2019

3 day music event to focus on the local and regional alternative scene and music communities

The ever-changing landscape of music in the region is in a bit of a flux with the over-commercialisation and corporate approach meaning that grassroots and underground movements suffering the most.

Sound+Fiction came as a result of this reflection. An event that brings together some of the brightest minds and freshest talents to talk, engage, and discuss key issues directly affecting the scene.

For three days, participants from Bahrain, UAE, KSA, Kuwait and USA, will meet to delivery panels, workshops and performances in an intimate, casual and open setting.

Hosted mainly at Bait Al Salmaniya, with a couple of satellite events, this offers an opportunity to dig deeper, and ask importance question about what the future holds for music in the region, and how much communities can evolve and thrive in this one-mindset approach.

The conference will be held from December 5 to 7, with more details about the program which is anchored around three key performance events, on the evening of each day: featuring the likes of Arabstract, Aveora, Christopher the Conquered, Kayan, Hasan Hujairi and We Speak in Colors.

With all the events green and open to the public, the key is clear. Expose people to a new way of perceiving and consuming music, and more importantly, a new way to create, showcase and experience it.
